Dear Friends and Community Members,

Many of us approach healthcare with caution, and for good reason. Too often, Black patients are unheard, dismissed, or harmed. The Green Book for Health (GBFH) exists to change that, and we hope we can get you involved in this important work.

The GBFH is a national, community-led guide designed to help Black Americans navigate healthcare with greater safety and clarity. Inspired by Victor Hugo Green’s 1936 Negro Motorist Green Book, the modern-day GBFH is an initiative grounded in the same principle: shared community knowledge can help Black Americans move through systems that were not built with them in mind.

For us, that knowledge comes from the real experiences as members of our community and as Black patients.

Right now, we are asking you to take one clear step:

Fill out the GBFH survey

Your responses will power the Community Guide: a secure, community-sourced platform where Black patients will share insights on hospitals, clinics, and providers to use. Together, this information will help guide our community toward better care.

When you complete the survey, you:

  • Contribute to a tool built by and for Black communities

  • Help others avoid harmful or discriminatory care

  • Strengthen a national resource rooted in lived experience

The GBFH is stewarded by the ARIAH Foundation and Just Equity for Health. Its strength depends on participation from our community.

Take the survey today and share it with someone you trust: greenbookforhealth.org
